Gallatin, TN and serving Sumner County. Our church currently ministers to over 500
registered families through more than 20 ministries and committees, and an excellent
religious education program for adults and children. If you are not already a member of

Making Sense of the Mass begins, August 15, 2010, at 9:15 a.m. in the eighth grade room. Bible Study with Fr. Gideon begins Monday, August 2, at 9:15 a.m. in the conference room of the Parish Office building. They will study the Deuterocanonical books of the Old Testament, beginning with the book of Tobit. Home Visitation Training for the St. Vincent de Paul Society will be held on Thursday, July 22, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the CASA facility on Maple Street. Food and drinks will be provided. Parish Announcements... Light Weigh: To learn how to overcome temptation and eat the foods you enjoy, while you grow closer to God and lose weight, come to our orientation session for the Light Weigh Bible Study DVD series, July 25 at 7 p.m. in the Parish Conference Room. Prevention Magazine chose Light Weigh because it met their criteria for a safe and healthy faith-based diet program, and there are no weigh-ins. For more information, call Sarah Rohrs at 451-0046. Open registration, Pre-K through 8th grade, is underway for the 2010-2011 school year. If you are interested in registering a child at SJV for the upcoming school year, packets for admission may be obtained at saintjohnvianney.org/admissions. The first day of school is August 12, 2010.
Legion of Mary
meets Saturday mornings at 8:45 a.m. Come pray the rosary! Our primary mission is 1) to bring Communion to those who are unable to attend Mass due to illness or confinement, 2) to arrange for parishioners to host the "Our Lady of Fatima" Statue for weekly prayer intentions in their homes, and 3) to share Jesus' gifts of Love and Peace. St. Marthas Food Pantry is in need of the following: hamburger/tuna helper, boxed potato and rice sides, juices, Koolaid and sugar, taco shells/sauce, cereals, canned fruit and veggies, spaghetti sauce, pasta and parmesan cheese. Items that need to be refrigerated may be brought during office hours. The Prayer Team asks that you remember the following: Donald and Barbara Tomlinson, Gary Dorris, Jennifer Flannigan, Denise and Chris Lovette, Gary Gentile, Allysa Miles, Bobby Knight, the people of the parish, Pope Benedict XVI, and all priests.
